Vinous Josh Raynolds - 01 May 17
(aged for a year in used French oak barrels) Lurid ruby. Explosive aromas of ripe red berries, incense and candied flowers, along with strong suggestions of Asian spices and smoky minerals. Palate-staining, spice-laced raspberry, bitter cherry and candied rose flavors become sweeter and deeper with aeration, without losing energy. In a lithe, elegant style but in no way lacking for depth of flavor or power. Closes seamless, sweet and strikingly long; suave, well-knit tannins contribute shape.
