Vinous Josh Raynolds - 01 Sep 12
(100% mencia, fermented with a large proportion of whole clusters in Austrian and French oak, then aged for 12 months on its lees): Glass-staining ruby. Powerful aromas and flavors of cherry compote, wild herbs, anise, Asian spices and potpourri, with suavely integrated oak. Ripe, lush and spicy, with no undue heaviness and strong back-end lift. The long, intensely spicy finish features very fine tannins and a sexy floral quality.
