The 2010 Barbaresco Coparossa is extremely elegant and refined with dried flowers, herbal notes, bright cola and Pinot-like softness. This is a stunning effort. The wine is irresistibly silky and sensuous on the palate, imparting clean fruit flavors that last long on the finish. It delivers fabulous length with seemingly never-ending intensity and persistency. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028. Bruno Rocca is one of the protagonists of the so-called Rabaja renaissance. A handful of producers in Barbaresco have banded together to draw attention to this historic vineyard just meters below the town’s main street. Bruno’s wines are always focused and sharp. Their beautiful qualities are reflected in the etched elegance of the bird feather drawings that adorn his beautifully designed labels. Medium red. Deeper-pitched than the normale, offering scents of red plum, spices, earth and smoke. Fleshier, sweeter and more serious, with good stuffing to its red fruit and menthol flavors. Still a bit youthfully tight, but the dusty tannins are ripe and the slightly exotic finish is lively, broad and persistent.

Barbaresco

Barbaresco, a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known as the “Queen” of Piedmont wines, it offers elegance and aromatic complexity with flavours of red cherries, raspberries, roses, and earthy notes. Its well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity enhance its ageing potential. With calcareous soils and favourable microclimates, Barbaresco is a more approachable alternative to Barolo. Top producers include Gaja, Produttori del Barbaresco, Bruno Giacosa, and Pio Cesare, who exemplify its refined character.
