Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 00
Good full red. Rich, ripe aromas of plum, currant, dark chocolate, smoke and spice cake. Full, rich and expansive; has the density, concentration and fleshiness of the vintage best examples, as well as firm supporting backbone. Finishes spicy, ripely tannic, long and sweet.

Barbaresco Vineyard Fine Wine

Barbaresco

Barbaresco, a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known as the “Queen” of Piedmont wines, it offers elegance and aromatic complexity with flavours of red cherries, raspberries, roses, and earthy notes. Its well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity enhance its ageing potential. With calcareous soils and favourable microclimates, Barbaresco is a more approachable alternative to Barolo. Top producers include Gaja, Produttori del Barbaresco, Bruno Giacosa, and Pio Cesare, who exemplify its refined character.
