Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 07
(aged in 500-liter tonneaux, one-third new) Good full red. Deep, ripe, nuanced aromas of plum, redcurrant, tobacco and mocha. As rich as this is, it's also less chunky than the Margheria, with more lift and a stronger impression of acidity. Finishes with sweeter tannins and very good vinosity, and an inviting element of sweet loamy earth.

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
