Robert Parker Wine Advocate Neal Martin - 28 Dec 16
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras, matured in 40% new oak, has a touch more precision and focus than the Les Charmes this year, perhaps the mineral core more noticeable at this early stage. The palate offers crunchy black fruit on the entry (in fact, texturally you might be duped into thinking there is some stem addition here) with good salinity and body. Like the domaine's other 2015s, it resides on the black side of the fruit spectrum, but with very good salinity and acidity imparting tension and nervosité on the finish. This is simply excellent and it will repay those who cellar for 4-5 years.

Rich and lively with lots of pungency and excitement. Well done! Velvety but not too sweet (just). (JR)

Chambolle-Musigny Vineyard Fine Wine

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
