The 2016 Virginie de Valandraud Blanc is laced with the essence of orchard fruit, citrus peel, mint and bright floral notes. Nicely textured, with good freshness, the Virginie Blanc is quite pretty in 2016.

Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Jan 19
The 2016 Virginie de Valandraud Blanc has a primal bouquet of lime flower and hints of quince and wax resin. The palate is fresh on the entry, with a fine bead of acidity, and quite saline in the mouth, leading to a precise, detailed, Graves-like finish. Very promising.

Bordeaux

Red Bordeaux, globally renowned, is crafted in France’s Bordeaux region from grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. These full-bodied wines feature dark fruit flavours, earthy and spicy notes, and often benefit from ageing. Top producers include Château Margaux, Château Latour, and Château Lafite Rothschild. White Bordeaux, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, offers styles from crisp to rich, with citrus and tropical notes. Sweet Bordeaux wines, like Sauternes, are famed for their rich sweetness and flavours of apricot and honey, with Château d’Yquem as a leading producer.
