The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru is matured entirely in new oak, and to be honest, that dictates the personality on the nose, rather than the terroir. The palate is ripe on the entry, offering powerful black cherry and raspberry fruit laced with a touch of licorice. The oak is present on the finish but there are no tannins jutting out here. Afford this 4–5 years for the wood to be fully assimilated. Three barrels produced.
