Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Sep 19
The 2017 Syrah BMT, bottled only in magnum, is another superb wine in this range. Black pepper, smoke, licorice, game and dark spice add striking savory top notes. The 2017 has terrific density, but it is also tightly wound and in need of time to be at its very best. Even so, all the elements are impeccably balanced. BMT is 50% Rodney's Syrah, 25% Colson Canyon Syrah and 25% Colson Canyon Grenache.

The deep ruby colored 2017 Syrah BMT is only bottled in magnum and contains 25% Grenache. It offers aromas of blueberry, red cherry jam, baked blackberries and grilled beef with nuances of cocoa, roasted coffee bean, fried herbs and flowers. It's full-bodied and savory with firm, chewy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long and nuanced. Give this a few more years in bottle.
