Vinous Antonio Galloni - 10 Jan 23
The 2018 Barolo Capalot is a powerhouse. A blast of dark cherry fruit, spice, mocha, leather and espresso races across the palate. I find the Capalot a bit pushed and over-extracted. The brutish style is more power than finesse. I prefer the La Morra bottling.

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
