Tasting Notes

Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 May 15
The 2004 Barolo Riserva Voghera Brea has blossomed into a far more beautiful wine than I could have ever imagined when it was first released. The flavors are dark, bold and richly expressive, with plenty of Serralunga volume, but also considerable aromatic presence, all nicely balanced by precise tannins. A huge, resonant finish laced with the essence of rose petals, mint and sweet red berries adds to the wine's considerable appeal. The Riserva spent 42 months in Slavonian and Austrian oak casks.
