The 2020 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a resounding success, mingling aromas of peach, pear, orange oil and confit lemon with notions of hazelnuts, white flowers and buttered toast. Full-bodied, broad and muscular, it's deep and multidimensional, its satiny attack segueing into a layered, seamless mid-palate framed by racy acids and chalky structuring dry extract. Sadly, it's produced in tiny quantities, so it won't be easy to find.

The 2020 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a delightful, beautifully defined bouquet that unfurls in the glass with yellow fruit, wild peach and crushed stone aromas. The oak is seamlessly integrated. The palate is well-balanced with a superb thread of acidity, lightly spiced with a tang of marmalade and white pepper towards its bravura finish. This livewire BBM feels tensile and persistent, sapid and more-ish. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
