The 2024 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon has a very pretty, fresh and slightly estuarine bouquet that is beautifully defined and classic in style. There is a "coolness" about it. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict tannins, a bit angular in style at the moment though its edges will be shaved during its élevage. Modest depth on the finish; this is a well-made Morey-Saint-Denis though due to less substance I would be inclined to drink this young.

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
