Vinous Antonio Galloni - 26 Mar 24
Now with an additional year in bottle, the 2015 Brut Rosé Emotion has moved into its more nuanced, ethereal stage. Cranberry, mint, spice and white pepper open with some coaxing, taking the place of the more fruit-driven notes that were present last year. There's good depth, but today I find the 2015 a touch closed. As always, the Emotion is a Champagne of understatement that often has a real feeling of elusiveness. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 2022.

Cuvee Emotion 2015 Rose is a saignée rosé blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 60-year-old vines. Pale pink with a consistent fine bead, it opens to crushed red bramble fruit, orange peel, vanilla bean and toast aromas that lead to a medium to full-bodied, savory palate with morello cherry and red currant fruit alongside an energized, vibrant acid line. It finishes long and savory with a kiss of sweetness and a little tannic grip. Disgorged February 2022 with eight grams per liter dosage.

Champagne

Champagne, exclusively from France's Champagne region, is synonymous with luxury and celebration. Made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, it undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, creating its signature bubbles. Flavours range from crisp green apple and citrus to rich, toasty notes of nuts and honey. Yeast contact in the bottle contributes to pastry and brioche notes, which are a key part of good quality Champagne. Top producers include Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Krug.
