Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Jul 18
The (2015) Extra-Brut Fac-Simile Rosé is racy and totally exciting in the glass. Beautifully focused, the 2015 pulses with energy. There is a weightless tension to the 2015 that I find alluring. A rush of cranberry, crushed flowers, rose petal and white pepper notes emerges from this powerful, vibrant Champagne. Stylistically, the Rosé is quite a bit more nervous than the blanc, at least today. There is so much to like here. Disgorged August 2017. Dosage is 2.8 grams per liter.

Champagne

Champagne, exclusively from France's Champagne region, is synonymous with luxury and celebration. Made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, it undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, creating its signature bubbles. Flavours range from crisp green apple and citrus to rich, toasty notes of nuts and honey. Yeast contact in the bottle contributes to pastry and brioche notes, which are a key part of good quality Champagne. Top producers include Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Krug.
