Ch de Beaucastel, Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Seckford is delighted to offer the release of Chateau de Beaucastel 2019 (rouge & blanc), the vintage continuing the run of form in 1979, '89, '99, 2009 and now 2019!

"The 2019s will be a step up over the 2018s and offer more depth, concentration, and richness, showing considerable purity of fruit and elegance.
2019 is a beautiful, possibly exceptional, vintage for the Southern Rhone."

Chateau de Beaucastel 2019 (rouge)

£270 per 6 bottles in bond
£550 per 6 magnums ib
£275 per 12 halves ib
£200 per 300cl ib

"This wine shows a persistent and fairly deep colour. The nose is pure and very elegant on wild black fruit, spices, floral notes with great freshness. On the palate, the wines reveal rich aromas of blueberries and blackcurrent jam with silky and delicate tannins. The finish is powerful and harmonious, with a very good length. An impressive wine full of complexity. A great vintage of Beaucastel." (Perrin)

Chateau de Beaucastel 2019 (blanc)

£270 per 6 bottles in bond

"The 2019 whites from this estate showed beautifully, and these are world-class wines that deserve a place in every wine lover’s cellar. The general rule with the whites is to enjoy bottles on release and over the following 5-7 years, then they are best forgotten until around age 20.
The 2019 reveals a lighter gold hue as well as a beautiful and classic bouquet of honeyed citrus, quince, white flowers, bees wax, and a touch of flinty minerality. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it has flawless balance, nicely integrated acidity, and a great, minerally finish. You can enjoy bottles today with a decant; or cellar for two to three decades, if you’re so inclined."
95 points (Jeb Dunnuck)

Gigondas 2019 Domaine du Clos des Tourelles

£200 per 6 bottles in bond
£400 per 6 magnums ib

"Domaine du Clos des Tourelles is located below the village of Gigondas. Its historic and emblematic 3-hectare vineyard of very old Grenache on limestone soils with a marly-sandy matrix, is the last Clos still existing in Gigondas.

The 2019 vintage has a deep ruby colour. The nose is red fruit, violets, liquorice, and mineral touches. Deep and complex on the palate with characteristic aromas of violet and liquorice, great power and well balanced. The 2019 vintage is of great finesse." (Perrin)
