Chablis is one of the most famous names in the wine world, and today Seckford is delighted to offer a collection of Chablis from some of the best producers.
Situated to the north-east of Burgundy, Chablis can be a little bit crisper in youth than white Burgundy. Minerality, precision & razor-like acidity are hallmarks of great Chablis, and when produced from the grand cru vineyards of Le Clos, Blanchots & others there is a depth & concentrated core of fruit that makes them amongst the finest chardonnays from anywhere.
Due to the balance & structure of Chablis, it must not be forgotten that the wines can age brilliantly. Bottles from the 1980s can still be gloriously full of life and gorgeous to drink. Our collection below has some fantastic, mature Chablis that would be a treat to drink now – for example the 2009s offer a rich palate of flavours. But if crisp, zippy white wine is your thing then look at the excellent younger vintages – perfect now or enjoy the development with regular opening of bottles!

2010 Chablis, Le Clos, Jean Paul Droin
£410 per 6 in bond
95+ Points (Wine Advocate)
Droin’s 2010 Chablis Les Clos is pure silk on the palate. Nothing really stands out, so exceptional is the wine’s overall balance. Stylistically, this is one of the brighter wines in the lineup, but the fruit has so much presence that the minerality and acidity are pretty much buried. A soft, perfumed finish rounds things out in style. In 2010, Droin’s Clos is all class and elegance. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years.
