I didn't taste the entry level Tempranillo this time (or the white) , so the first wine this year was the 2012 Viñas de Gaín. All these reds have a similar color, and a harmonious nose with notes of ripe black and blue fruit without excess oak, it feels very well integrated, fresh, with a herbal tone, plenty of cherries and subtle spices. The palate is very accessible, with very fine tannins and good balance, supple and tasty. A noteworthy Viñas de Gaín, very subtle and elegant. Drink now or keep. 150,000 bottles produced.
