The 2011 Chambolle-Musigny Village demands a little coaxing from the glass: earthy at first but subsequently unveiling precise red cherry and red currant fruit. The palate is fresh and compact on the entry, defined by crisp tannins, very fine purity and impressive precision if not quite the length. This elegant Chambolle will be one of Jean-Marie’s most approachable Chambolles. Drink 2014-2020.
