From finicky 70+-year-old vines comes Fourrier’s mere two barrels (50 cases worth) of 2005 Morey-St.-Denis Clos Sorbe, possessing lovely notes of cedar and roasted meats, a doughy substantiality, abundant Chambolle-like sweet inner-mouth florality, and a finish of impressively meaty concentration augmented by bittersweet floral and chocolate notes. This already deeply-satisfying wine should be well worth following for a dozen or more years.
