Given Jadot's track record with Chambertin (the 1990, tasted recently, is stupendous), I found this wine to be tight and reserved. Dark ruby-colored and offering a delightful nose of roses, perfume, and chocolate-covered cherries, it is a silky-textured, rich, lively, and wonderfully dense wine jam-packed with deeply ripe red and black fruits as well as hints of underbrush. What I tasted was certainly an outstanding wine, and my instincts and experience suggest there is more to it. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2010+.
