Still not in bottle at the time of this tasting, the 2011 Gigondas In Nomine Patris is certainly one of the stars in the vintage. A blend of mostly Grenache that comes from 100-year-old vines, it offers up a stunning, traditional bouquet of bouquet garni, cured meats, saddle leather and blackcurrants to go with medium to full-bodied richness, knockout texture and fine tannin on the finish. Aged all in foudre, this impeccably put together, pure and concentrated 2011 will deliver loads of pleasure over the coming decade.
