Bright ruby-red. More obviously ripe on the nose than the Baudes, offering blackberry, chocolate, mocha, smoke and a whiff of pepper. Very sweet, supple and creamy, with the ripe chocolatey character following through in the mouth. Fuller than the Baudes but not as vibrant or detailed. Finishes broad and chocolatey, without quite the lift to merit an outstanding rating.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
