Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jan 03
Medium ruby. Smoky aromas of dark berries and roasted meat. Juicy but quite tightly wound, even a bit dry, with intense, fresh flavors of dark berries and licorice. Today the tannins are in control. This seems to have closed up following the June bottling, and is not currently showing the grenache sweetness and texture it demonstrated a year ago.
