This vineyard site often delivers floral aromas, but in this cool vintage you get savory tones instead. The 2014 Barolo Monvigliero does offer some distant tones of pressed violets and dried rose petal, but the core of the wine is occupied by forest fruit, plum and dark tobacco. I would suggest a near-term drinking window of approximately 10 years (but not much more).

Barolo Vineyard Fine Wine

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
