Tasting Notes

Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Nov 18
The 2014 Barolo Cannubi is an intriguing wine, as it is not especially sensual in this vintage, but instead packs a serious punch. The flavors are bright and perfumed, with plenty of chalk and white pepper overtones that add energy. Today, the 2014 is tightly wound, and yet it is also super-expressive. Readers who can be patient will be rewarded, but the 2014 Cannubi is not as obviously compelling as some other recent vintages have been.

Jancis Robinson Walter Speller - 19 Mar 18
Barolo. Tasted blind. Mid to deep ruby with orange tinges. Balsamic lifted cherry nose with hints of cardamom pod. Minty cherry and raspberry fruit and bags of coating tannins. It will need more time for the whole to come together. Chewy, long finish that is just medium bodied. (WS)
