The 2011 Barolo Castellero shows a slightly sweet and juicy style with dark fruit tones of Morello cherry and blackberry. Those fruit tones are enhanced by subtle spice notes, licorice and grilled herb. The Castellero cru (in the Barolo township) is known for structured wines with a fine tannic backbone. This expression accurately reflects those characteristics. It should age gracefully for ten years or more.
