The black/purple-colored 1999 Shiraz ""Short Row"" (1,500 cases aged primarily in new American wood) has a dense black/purple color and a sweet nose of blackberry, tar, pepper, and vanilla. The wine is rich, full-bodied, dense, pure, and chewy. It seems tightly-knit at present, but one or more years of cellaring should be beneficial, and the wine should last for 10-12 years.
