Tasting Notes

92-94
Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 13
(includes 20% rose; these are Fenocchio's oldest vines but his Villero bottling is not typically an outsized wine): Good full medium red. Aromas of candied raspberry, violet and flinty minerality. Juicy and tightly wound but with insidious sweetness to its youthful red fruit flavors. Wonderfully fine-grained, perfumed wine with firm but harmonious tannic spine and excellent energy.

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
