2012 - Brunello di Montalcino P56, Tenuta Buon Tempo

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino p. 56 is named after a single-vinyeard parcel planted to 22-year-old vines located at 350 meters above sea level. This is the wine's inaugural vintage. It celebrates the estate's rebranding. Its old name was Tenuta Oliveto, but today it is Tenuta Buon Tempo. A Riserva is also produced but it represents a blend of fruit from across the best vineyard sites. Brunello p. 56, on the other hand, is a focused and sharp expression with an elaborate bouquet of fruit and spice followed by a smooth texture. The oak is applied in a heavy-handed manner but the natural opulence of the fruit offers ample support. Give this wine an extra year or two to come together.
