Padelletti enjoys a well-merited fan base. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino shows medium body and a dark ruby color. The wine delivers classic aromas of dried berry, cassis, tobacco and balsam herb. It shows grit and determination in terms of mouthfeel. The density is good and the wine offers a complete picture of carefully crafted Sangiovese cultivated in a warm vintage. The wine can be consumed in the near term with homemade pasta or lasagna with lots of delicious cheese.

Good bright red. Red cherry, violet and damp earth on the nose. Moderately chewy and fruity on entry, then tougher on the back half, showing a peppery quality to its leanish, taut flavors of black cherry, crushed stone and leather.

Montalcino Sud. Pale ruby. Good direct freshness on the nose and palate. Nicely integrated already. Good core of not-overripe fruit. Excellent length. Really neat and appetising. Not big though. (JR)
